We use the most successful method for Harvesting a Black Bear. Sitting in tree stands overlooking active baitsites.
The stands are approximately 12' to 15’ high and are set up to suit right or left handed hunters, using rifle or bow. Stands are set up for a 20 yard or less shot to the barrel.
We establish and tend our bait sites 30 days in advance of opening day and maintain two active bait sites per hunter.
We head for the tree stands around 2 p.m. and hunt until dark.
The majority of bears are taken between 3 p.m. and dusk, with the last hour before sunset being the “magic“ hour.
Opportunity to kill a bear the last 3 seasons ratio is 90% with a bear at the barrel.
Listen to your Guide and sit “good” on stand and you’ll kill a bear with us.
